Hi! I'm Mel
A web developer and automation expert dedicated to empowering purpose-driven founders. I bring your website functionality to life and build streamlined systems, whilst ensuring you understand every step.
My coding career didn't exactly start with a standing ovation. A GCSE teacher told me I wasn't suited to it, my first job in tech was a steep learning curve, and at one point I was genuinely convinced I was about to lose my job if I couldn't figure something out fast. 👩💻
Turns out, panic is a great motivator. I figured it out and somewhere in that slightly panicked problem-solving, I completely fell in love with technology.
Since then I've had the privilege of building software and websites for a variety of companies like Superdrug, USwitch, UK Gov, Brighton Wellness Festival and Found & Flourish. I also spent several years running my own EdTech company; building tools to help young people embrace the fear of failure while learning to code. That chapter's closed now, but my values haven't changed:
I'm still passionate about building accessible technology, implementing sustainable workflows, and developing tech that genuinely serves people. Now and in the future.
I work with small and medium-sized businesses and I genuinely care about every business I work with, not just technically, but for your team, your users, and the way your business actually runs. I'm here to help you figure out the right thing to build in the most cost and time efficient way.
And the big dream? One day I'd love to write a coding book for children. Watch this space. ✨
When I'm not writing code, you'll find me with my family, on stage with my local am-dram group, or jumping into the sea in the summer months! 🌊
Giving Back
When I'm able to, I donate to causes that matter to me. Right now I'm supporting East Sussex Early Days CIC: they offer free lactation consultancy and early feeding support to families in East Sussex, and they were a genuine lifeline to me as a new parent.
